fotochatter is an innovative way of sharing photos with your friends and letting them share with you. fotochatter allows you to use your camera phone to broadcast photos to the phones of everyone on your network.  They can look at the photos right away, and make comments which come straight back to you. Using traditional MMS it's still difficult to send pictures to one your friends (provided he is on the same carrier), much less a whole group. All that is about to change. With fotochatter you can easily send a photo to all of your friends and get feedback in a matter of minutes. Basically, fotochatter makes it possible to use your phone to communicate in a brand new way. 

In addiiton, you can browse and explore all the people and public photos on fotochatter right from your phone. You can invite and message users, and you can even download any picture you are looking at straight to your phone as a wallpaper or proportional photo.

The basic usage scenario would be something like this:

1. Jack sends a picture from his phone to his fotochatter posting address.
2. All ten of Jack's fotochatter friends get an SMS notifying them that he has added a photo (if they have this option turned on).
3. They view Jack's photo on their phones either via the fotochatter WAP site or J2ME(Java) application.
4. Some friends make comments on his photo.
5. 5 minutes later, Jack receives several comments (via SMS) on his photo, and can reply to each individually via SMS.

way too many phones!

fotochatter is a project run by guys who spend a little too much time with their phones. We've been tinkering around with camera phones for quite awhile, and have always been interested in all of the new communication possibilities they enable. fotochatter was born out of a desire to share photos with our friends instantly, using phones instead of PCs.  What began as a simple experiment has mushroomed into something a little bigger. 

The fotochatter team is based in Los Angeles, CA and we have been working in the tech field for quite some time.  The FC team has worked in the computer industry in large projects for NASA, Disney, Sony, Idealab. We are constantly looking to improve our service and technology and look forward to hearing from you.
